Outlook and Business Opportunities of Agrivoltaics (Solar Sharing for Farming)
 — A New Market Explored through Perovskite Solar Cells: Discovering “Untapped Potential” in Farmland
Friday, October 23, 2026 | 1:00 PM–2:00 PM JST | Online

[Seminar Overview]

  • 1:00 PM – 1:50 PM

How does agrivoltaics, also called solar sharing in Japan, work?
This seminar discusses the basics of this system and examines the potential of this market, where two social challenges—the problem of abandoned farmland and the demand for expanded renewable energy—intersect.
The implementation of next-generation, Perovskite solar cells will redefine farmland itself. This may provide room for the market to accept many entrants from energy, trading, chemical, real estate industries. (*)
This seminar discusses the market structure, business models, and the potential of this sector as a new business and investment opportunity, along with our views based our expertise and track record as a pioneer in this field in Japan.

*) Please note that, as solar sharing utilizing film-type perovskite solar cells is currently in the demonstration phase, there are certain limitations on the information we can provide.
