WHATS Seminar Vol. 251 [Online] “Structural Reforms in Primary Industry Facilities for Regional Revitalization and the Realization of Carbon Neutrality"

WHATS Seminar Vol. 251 [Online] titled above will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026
[Seminar Overview]
- 2:30 PM – 3:20 PM
Structural Reforms in Primary Industry Facilities for Regional Revitalization and the Realization of Carbon Neutrality — Wooden Greenhouses for Agriculture and Forestry, Advanced Integrated Environmental Control Systems, 3D Remote Monitoring, and Regional Regeneration Modeling Videos
As Japan aims to achieve both carbon neutrality by 2050 and regional revitalization, digital transformation (DX) and decarbonization of primary industries — along with year-round employment opportunities for seniors and people with disabilities — are becoming key to sustaining local economies.
In this seminar, we will introduce verified advanced case studies and projects under development in the following areas:
- High-efficiency agricultural, forestry, and fishery production in collaboration with renewable energy sources such as biomass power generation.
- Year-round agriculture–welfare collaboration models that incorporate employment opportunities for persons with disabilities and the elderly.
- Smart agriculture, forestry, and fisheries that even new entrants can manage using IoT-based integrated environmental control systems.
Through these examples, we will outline specific strategies and business development points for:
- New entrants from other industries into the primary sector,
- R&D and new business divisions,
- Local governments, public organizations, and agricultural/forestry/fisheries corporations.
Main Topics
- Introduction to Our Latest Integrated Environmental Control System and 3D Remote Monitoring and Control System
- Issues and Solutions in Current Greenhouse Structures, and the Future Potential of Wooden Greenhouses
- Technical integration of agriculture and forestry with biomass power generation and waste-to-energy plants — Environmental integration control utilizing simplified exhaust gas purification and waste heat recovery.
- Technological Proposals for Regional Revitalization Based on Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries
Speaker: Mr. Keita Fujiwara, President, Omnia Concerto, Inc..President, Tenuto, Inc.
- Completed a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1989. He then joined Nippon Television Network Corporation, where he was engaged in R&D of high-definition cameras, wireless transmission, relay and satellite broadcasting systems, information cameras, and outside broadcast vehicle equipment. He also served as a technical director and contributed extensively to on-site broadcast operations.
- Later supported the launch of venture companies, assuming positions as Representative Director.
- Served as Director and Head of R&D at a listed manufacturer, engaged in new technology and business development, including CO₂-related projects.
- In 2013, he founded Tenuto, Inc., where he established, materialized, and commercialized CO₂ localized application technologies for agricultural use. He was engaged in the development and sales of photosynthesis-enhancing devices based on this technology. Published multiple research papers on CO₂ and air local application and LED effects at various agricultural research institutions.
- In 2021, founded Omnia Concerto, Inc., focusing on wood biomass power generation and developing integrated environmental control systems for the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors. He promotes a wide range of initiatives to enhance the sustainability of primary industries, including pollen-free cedar seedling cultivation systems, wooden greenhouse projects, land and marine aquaculture, and year-round mushroom bed cultivation systems. He is also focusing on Agri-Welfare collaborative business models.
