The Era of Making Water at the Point of Use: How Atmospheric Water Generators Will Transform Our Lives
Although several manufacturers and distributors of atmospheric water generators (AWGs) exist overseas and in Japan, there has been no other company in Japan that has developed technology capable of producing “delicious water” that even Japanese consumers—accustomed to high-quality water—can appreciate.
This summer, as we begin sales of our compact, household-size unit, we will share findings from our independent research, focusing on how urban apartment residents perceive and use water. The seminar will also explore how AWGs can provide solutions to aging infrastructure, disaster preparedness, population decline, and regional depopulation in Japan, as well as contribute to addressing global challenges in regions with limited access to clean water.

Presenter:
Yu Kawasaki, President & CEO
AQUAM Holdings Co., Ltd. / AQUAM Inc.
After graduating from university, Mr. Kawasaki moved to the United States and began working in lighting design. While pursuing his career, he developed a strong interest in international affairs and cutting-edge technologies and encountered the concept of “making water from air”.
Upon returning to Japan, he spent four and a half years specializing in interior design for hotels before establishing his own business. While continuing to take on design projects, he became passionate about promoting Japan’s technological capabilities, history, and culture to the world, actively participating in numerous international ventures.
At the age of 30, he was diagnosed with leaky gut syndrome. After nearly a year of battling the illness, he came to deeply realize how unpredictable life can be. Influenced by his experiences studying in the U.S. and living through the Great East Japan Earthquake, he decided to enter the atmospheric water generation industry.
Motivated by a desire to make unreliable foreign-made atmospheric water generators practical through Japan’s advanced technology, he founded AQUAM. In 2023, he survived a severe spinal injury in Hawaii, and as a father of five, continues to lead efforts to develop next-generation water technology.
