WHATS Seminar Vol. 177 [Online] “Current Status and Future Prospects of Woody Biomass Energy” will be held online on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

[Seminar Overview]

Woody biomass is an energy source that has various forms of use, including not only large-scale power generation but also small- and medium-scale heat utilization and cogeneration. The use of woody biomass derived from domestic timber has multifaceted values, including the healthy growth of forests and revitalization of local economy in Japan. On the other hand, unlike other renewable energy, commercialization of woody biomass energy requires careful consideration in advance because of its characteristic that the fuel needs to be stably procured.

3. Heat Utilization and Cogeneration by Woody Biomass
