[Overview of the seminar]

Logistics, which supports the flow of “goods” that are necessary for our daily lives and is called the “blood of the economy,” is now recognized as one of the social infrastructures. However, the actual situation is that there is a serious shortage of labor, and this problem has been revealed in recent years. Introduction of logistics robots in warehouses is attracting attention as one of the solutions to this problem.

In Japan, there have been an increasing number of cases of the introduction of logistics robots, mainly in E-commerce warehouses and large-scale bases since around 2019, and the COVID-19 pandemic has raised people’s awareness of automation and further accelerated the robotization of warehouse operations.

In this seminar, in addition to overall trends in the logistics robotics market attracting attention, trends of robots used in each work process in warehouses and future prospects will be discussed.
