[Overview of the seminar]

The Japanese archipelago is struck by many natural disasters every year.

Local governments, private companies, and other organizations stockpile several days’ worth of food in accordance with ordinances established by government agencies so as not to hinder the provision of food in the event of a disaster.

In the past, emergency foods were expected to be in steady demand, centering on standard products such as dried bread, canned foods, processed quick-cooking rice, and mineral water. In recent years, however, there has been a growing variety of prepared foods and desserts, and competition is increasing. Also, with the growing interest in reduction of food loss and spread of telecommuting, it has become necessary to meet various needs.

The challenges and key points for achieving further growth in the emergency food industry where these changes are required will be discussed in this seminar.

1. Trends in the Emergency Food Market

2. Challenges that the Emergency Food Market Faces

3. Future Market Outlook
