WHATS Seminar Vol.115 [Online] “The Nondestructive Testing Market Under Progressive Digitization Triggered by Deregulation, Where Both New and Old Technologies are Effectively Utilized” will be held online on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Note: This seminar will be conducted in Japanese.

 [Overview of the seminar]

The first round of periodic inspections of bridges and tunnels conducted once every five years had finished, and issues have been identified and measures have been taken for the second round.

Before the third round of inspections, digital transformation (DX) has been promoted and new technologies and methods that enable inspections with high efficiency have been actively adopted and utilized, aiming to reduce costs through high efficiency and shorter time operation.

As a result, equipment and device manufacturers and related companies have become increasingly active in responding to this trend. Further, entrusted testing contractors have also been actively adopting new test methods as well as existing methods. In addition to bridges and tunnels, inspection methods have been also evolving for chemical plants and other facilities.

In this seminar, the current and future market for nondestructive testing will be examined from two aspects: equipment and devices, and contracting services.

  1. Nondestructive Testing Equipment and Instruments Market
  2. Nondestructive Testing Contract Market
  3. Nondestructive Testing Market
