Corporate Training Services Market in Japan: Research Findings 2026
The Corporate Training Services Market Reached 607.5 Billion Yen in FY2025, Marking a 3.7% Year-Over-Year Increase. Another 3.7% Year-Over-Year Increase Anticipated in FY2026
Yano Research Institute (the President, Takashi Mizukoshi) conducted a survey of the corporate training services market in Japan. The results revealed the influence of evolving digital technology and changing customer needs, as well as market trends and outlooks.
Market Overview
Based on business sales, the corporate training services market reached 607.5 billion yen in FY2025, marking a 3.7% increase from the previous fiscal year. Demand for major services, which are classroom-based tuition (with open programs that accept registrations from as few as one participant and are taken alongside participants from other companies and customized programs), has continued to increase. There was strong demand for training programs for new hires, tiered training programs for junior and mid-level employees and middle managers, programs focusing on technological and business skills for those promoting digital transformation, and personnel and organizational development programs for next-generation leaders, including executive candidates. These programs drove the overall market for corporate training services.
Since FY2022 ending in March 2023, financial results have required the disclosure of human capital management. This has prompted companies to invest in employee training. Investments in training programs, especially those for next-generation leaders who could become management and executive candidates, are flourishing. Demand for programs that address succession planning is also increasing.
Noteworthy Topics
Companies’ High Intention to Train Employees Aim to Further Enhance the Productivity of Current Employees
Due to a shrinking workforce, companies have high intentions of training next-generation executive candidates as part of their strategy to further enhance the productivity of current employees and prevent turnover. These intentions, together with talent development assessments, are encouraging the increased use of training services.
The corporate training services market has been primarily boosted by some companies with strong performance investing in hiring and training amid relatively favorable economic conditions. The market is also driven by more companies increasing their investments in human capital management in response to government promotion. The increased need for work efficiency and personnel development, in conjunction with the prevalence and evolution of AI and other cutting-edge solutions, is also boosting market expansion.
Future Outlook
As more companies are expected to address human capital management, the corporate training services market is anticipated to grow further. Accordingly, the market is projected to reach 630 billion yen in FY2026, which is a 3.7% increase from the previous fiscal year, based on business sales.
