Summary of Research Findings

YANO has conducted a corporate questionnaire to 214 clinics that were newly opened in 2025.
The data reveals that EMRs have become an essential system in healthcare, adopted by 97.6% of clinics. Cloud-based EMRs are by far the most popular choice at 73.1%, vastly eclipsing on-premise systems at 24.5%. This preference for the cloud is fueled by vendor marketing and, crucially, lower upfront costs, as clinics can avoid the expensive burden of purchasing and maintaining their own server hardware and software licenses.

Noteworthy Topics

Adoption Status of Voice-to-Text Tools (AI SOAP Notes) and AI Medical Documentation Tools

When asked about the deployment of AI tools —specifically voice-to-text solutions (AI SOAP notes) and AI medical documentation that had “implemented at the time of opening” reached 4.5% and 3.5%, respectively.
The relatively low adoption rates are attributable to the timing of solution availability, as full-scale platform launches only began in 2024. Going forward, adoption rates are projected to increase as these AI documentation tools have strong potential to significantly streamline clinical workflows.
