The Key to Successful AI Implementation: Practical Strategies for Data Preparation
With the adoption of generative AI and foundation models, building AI systems tailored to an organization's own business has become a practical option.
However, many organizations find that their AI initiatives stall at the proof-of-concept (PoC) stage or fail to deliver the expected business value after implementation. In most cases, the primary challenge is not the AI model itself, but the quality of the data used to develop and operate it.
In fact, the majority of effort in AI projects is devoted not to model development, but to the data preparation process—including data collection, data annotation (the process of labeling data for AI training), and data quality management. Despite its importance, this topic is rarely discussed in a systematic way, leaving many organizations uncertain about what needs to be prepared and where common pitfalls lie.
In this seminar, we will explain the overall data preparation process for AI development from a practitioner's perspective. From data collection through annotation, quality management, and continuous improvement, we will explain the key tasks involved in each stage and highlight the challenges that practitioners commonly encounter.
Topics:
- Why data preparation becomes the biggest obstacle to successful AI implementation
- Understanding the overall data preparation process
- How to design an effective organizational structure for data preparation
Speaker: Shohei Uraoka, Manager, Data Technology Department, Nextremer Co., Ltd.
