"Snack Yano Kei" provides a unique opportunity to explore diverse industries, market trends, and social developments - often discuss topics that are rarely covered in daytime business seminars.

[Business Seminar—Snack Yano Kei Vol. 10]
The Story of the “New Business Uncle” Tackling the ¥1.2 Trillion Economic Loss Caused by Male Menopause
Thursday, January 29, 2026
At this 10th edition of Snack Yanokei — our casual business seminar held in a Japanese-style snack bar — we welcome Mr. Yoshihiko Matsuura, founder of MenLab Inc., who goes by the name of “Male Menopause Uncle.” Together, we’ll dive into his unique way of thinking as he connects seemingly unrelated fields: male menopause, corporate health management, and new business development.
Mr. Matsuura doesn’t have a medical background, specialized knowledge, or massive funding. Yet, faced with the major social issue of “working men's health challenges,” he launched MenLab, a healthcare startup focused on male menopause, using his own approach: start small, validate ideas, and grow the business with trusted partners.
In the world of startups, it’s not just about big, disruptive innovations. Even a small service started by one person can gain traction—if it addresses the core of a real social issue.
At this session, we’ll explore:
- Why male menopause is becoming a serious concern for companies
- How a healthcare business can operate without providing medical treatment
- Behind-the-scenes of designing a business that involves university hospitals, doctors, and corporations
- The hidden cost of presenteeism uncovered through corporate health initiatives
- A practical model combining fundraising × Proof of Concept (PoC) × startup development
We’ll explore these topics in conversation with our guest expert, sharing insights and behind-the-scenes stories—some for the first time ever. And of course, you’ll enjoy all this in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere of a snack bar.
This event is perfect for:
- Corporate new business developers
- Those interested in health management or menopause-related healthcare
- Investors and financial professionals
- Anyone curious about medical startups
- HR and talent development professionals
- People who just want to get inspired over a drink at a snack bar

Why Host This Seminar at a Snack Bar?
Yano Research Institute supports Japan’s snack bar culture. More than just drinking establishments, snack bars have long served as hubs for business networking and social engagement since the Showa era. They provide a unique setting where people can learn life lessons, social etiquette, and build meaningful connections.
In today’s digital age, interpersonal communication is declining, leading to increased loneliness and social isolation. However, snack bars are gaining attention from sociologists and municipal representatives as a potential solution to these societal challenges.
As a leading market research firm, Yano Research Institute has officially committed to promoting snack bar culture. In collaboration with the All Japan Snack Federation and Office Nagamo, we are launching various projects to leverage snack bars for business and social communication. This seminar marks the first step in that initiative.
