Online Seminar: Halal Certification for Cosmetics

Halal cosmetics market is a growing market. People’s interest in Halal quality has been increasing every year and the demand of Halal cosmetics has been rising even in this coronavirus crisis. Expense on cosmetics of Muslims all over the world is currently 66 billion dollars and is forecasted to reach 76 billion dollars by 2024. The annual average growth rate in the future is expected to be 2.9%. Large portion of Muslim consumers are in young generation. Their consumption behavior has been shifting to one that focuses on lifestyles and quality of products as their income has been growing, and accordingly their interest in Halal cosmetics has been increasing.

In this seminar, Indonesia Halal Training & Education Center (IHATEC), the educational section of LPPOM MUI (Halal certification body in Indonesia), which has trusted experience gained over past 32 years, will introduce the guideline of and requirements for cosmetic Halal certification, and Yano Research Institute will give some comments on the potential of Halal cosmetics in the future.
