The Future of Carbon Credit Utilization
Pioneering a Sustainable Cycle of “Environmental Value” and “Economic Benefits”

In FY2025, there were significant developments both in Japan and globally that greatly impacted the promotion of the "Green Transformation" (GX), which is a concept promoted by the Japanese government to drive decarbonization and economic growth in tandem. These included notable movements in corporate rules for GHG accounting, reporting, and disclosure, as well as in decarbonization-related regulations and carbon markets.

This session will highlight key trends and provide essential perspectives and practical approaches to link a company's decarbonization efforts to an essential increase in corporate value.

Key Topics:

  1. Key GX-related developments for companies in FY2025
  2. Legal and regulatory compliance, and carbon pricing
  3. The future of Scope 2 emissions reduction
  4. Practical solutions for Scope 3 emissions reduction
  5. Trends and utilization strategies in the carbon credit market
  6. Strategic priorities for companies in FY2026

Speaker:
Yosuke Isa, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Research and Consulting Office for Carbon Neutrality, BYWILL Inc.

After graduating from Waseda University, Mr. Isa worked in residential product planning, sales, and commercial facility development at a major real estate developer listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. He later joined Link and Motivation Inc. as head of consulting for the Brand Management Division. In 2013, he founded Forward Inc., a consulting firm specializing in branding and marketing. He has since promoted the concept of sustainability branding and has supported value creation for major listed companies and their key subsidiaries.

In April 2023, Forward Inc. merged with Waara Inc., a consulting firm focused on decarbonization, and was rebranded as BYWILL Inc. Mr. Isa became COO and assumed his current role in March 2025. He is dedicated to fostering a cycle of "environmental value" and "economic  benefits," aiming for a world where carbon neutrality and economic growth are achieved simultaneously. His expertise covers sustainability management strategy, corporate branding, environmental business development, and organizational development.
