The Life Insurance Market in a Declining Population Society - Capturing the Younger Demographic

While it is generally said that people start purchasing life insurance in their 30s, life insurance companies are now facing an increasingly competitive environment due to the declining population of younger individuals.

In July 2024, Yano Research Institute conducted a consumer survey with 1,346 men and women aged 18 to 49 living in Japan. The survey measured their interest in and willingness to purchase life insurance, as well as their perceptions of insurance companies.

This seminar will explain the results of this survey and discuss the initiatives that life insurance companies are taking to attract younger customers. We will also explore strategies for capturing the younger demographic.
