WHATS Seminar Vol. 203 [Online] titled above will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025
[Seminar Overview]
- 2:30 p.m. – 3:20 p.m.
The Current State of the Plant Factory Industry: Light and Shadow – Is Now the Right Time to Enter?
The plant factory industry has a long history. It is said to have originated in Denmark in 1957 and has since seen three major booms in Japan: the first in the 1980s, the second in the 1990s, and the third in the 2010s. Today, the industry is transforming from a "trend" into a "necessity."
However, this journey has been marked by both "light and shadow," with many companies entering the field only to face the harsh reality of withdrawal. This seminar will delve into the following key points:
- What is a plant factory?
- The history of the industry – Through multiple booms
- Massive entries and exits – The trap of relying on equipment manufacturers for production expertise
- Market growth and the decline of plant factory operators
- The future direction – Toward a solid growth market
