This report was compiled based on an article introduced in our periodical, “Yano Report” dated July 10, 2019.
I. The Total Supply Volume of Wooden Board Has Remained Flat at 2,988 thousand cubic meters: Domestic Products Slightly Decreased, Supported by Imported Products
II. Domestic Production Decreased by 2.0% to 1,847 thousand cubic meters: Imported Products Increased by 3.2% to 1,138 thousand cubic meters
III. Insulation Boards and Medium Density Fiberboards (MDF) Registered Negative Growth in Domestic Production
IV. Thinned Wood and Remaining Materials from Factories are Largely Used for Fiberboards; Demolished Timber is Frequently Used for Birch Plywood
V. The Percentage of F☆☆☆☆* is around 95%: Low Formalization is making Further Progress
*F☆☆☆☆ (F four-star) is the highest grade in classification regarding the reduction in formaldehyde emission in Japan.
VI. Imported Products in Total Wooden Panel Market Increased to 44.5%
VII. Housing-related Use Accounts for 90% of Use Application of Wooden Boards
