Purpose of this Book: This book aims to summarize the results of the web-based questionnaire survey “Survey on the Actual State of Human Resource Development and Training in Companies,” conducted annually within the independently planned market report “Actual State and Outlook of the Corporate Training Services Market” published by Yano Research Institute Ltd. By compiling ten years of survey results chronologically, it seeks to identify the changes in each indicator over time.

The “Survey on the Actual State of Human Resource Development and Training in Companies” is conducted annually by Yano Research Institute Ltd. using its own unique survey framework. It targets “companies, government agencies, and organizations with 500 or more employees” and “employees in general affairs, human resources, or education-related departments (or employees involved in such work)” at “companies, government agencies, and organizations with 100 or more but fewer than 500 employees.” It analyzes the actual state of human resource development and training at the company or organization (corporation) to which the individual belongs, through employees (individuals) directly involved in human resource development and training.

The survey reveals the following aspects:

① Actual training programs implemented
② Training scale, budget status, and changes over the past 3 years
③ Training themes of interest
④ Implementation status of e-learning-based learning
⑤ Ownership status of training facilities
⑥ Usage status of external training facilities and rental conference rooms
⑦ New employee recruitment status
⑧ Utilization of recruitment media
⑨ Usage rate and awareness of major training providers
⑩ Usage rate and awareness of major assessment tools
Survey Period: May of each year from 2016 to 2025
Survey Method: Internet questionnaire survey

*While the annual survey is conducted via a web-based questionnaire for survey monitors, this publication compiles and organizes past data; no new fieldwork was conducted.

Respondent Criteria:

③ Aged 20 to 59
*Conditions ①–③ are common to all years. However, as an exception, only for 2016, condition ③ applies to ages 20–69.
